24-time Major champion Novak Djokovic will face Lorenzo Musetti in the 2024 Wimbledon semi-finals on Friday, July 12. The Serbian was given a free pass to the last four after Alex de Minaur gave him a walkover. The latter suffered an injury that prevented him from participating in their quarter-final match.

The Serbian previously defeated Vit Kopriva, Jacob Fearnley, Alexei Popyrin and Holger Rune in the first four rounds. He equaled his former rival Roger Federer’s record of 13 semi-final appearances at the All England Club by reaching this far. He could also equal the Swiss’ eight titles at the venue if he were to win in Sunday’s final.

Musetti dug deep to beat Taylor Fritz in five sets to reach his first Major semifinal. It hasn’t been an easy journey for him to get this far at SW19 as none of his matches have been routine affairs. However, the Italian has been in good form throughout the grass swing and has stepped up when it has mattered.

Djokovic leads Musetti 5-1 in the head-to-head matchup. Their most recent meeting took place a few weeks ago at the French Open, a five-set battle that went in the Serbian’s favour. This will be the pair’s first meeting on grass. The Italian’s only win in this match came at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters in three sets.

Both players have competed quite well so far, and their semi-final also promises to be a compelling battle. On that note, here are all the details about their upcoming meeting:
