Angel Reese has established herself as one of the biggest women’s basketball stars in the WNBA. The Chicago Sky rookie has made a lot of fans in just half a season. Among them are famous rapper Megan Thee Stallion and singer SZA, who have expressed their fascination with Reese.
Fans have noticed the two musical stars’ support of Reese. One posted it on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Like SZA and Meg the Stallion love Angel Reese>>>>🥹💕,” said one fan.
The post has since gained popularity and brought it to the attention of Reese, who quoted it and acknowledged SZA and Megan Thee Stallion’s support for her during her first WNBA season.
“The gworlssssssss💞🤭,” Reese wrote.
Reese first became fascinated with rapper Megan Thee Stallion during the WNBA season. The rapper even brought Reese on stage during the first month of the season when Stallion held a concert in Chicago.
Stallion also brought Reese’s Sky teammates Michaela Onyenwere, Isabelle Harrison, Diamond DeShields and Dana Evans on stage during a performance of “Pop It” during the Chicago leg of her Hot Girl Summer Tour.
The rapper said in an interview that she tries to emulate Reese when she plays a basketball game for herself in her studio.
“There’s a goal in the back and sometimes I go there and I’m messing around. This is so random, but I think I’m really Angel Reese when I get back there,” Megan Thee Stallion said on a show hosted by Shannon Sharpe.
Meanwhile, SZA has shared how much she wants to see Reese play after tying the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles.
“Go crazy! I gotta see her play,” SZA wrote on her Instagram Story.
Reese invited the four-time Grammy award-winning singer to watch a game live in Chicago.
Angel Reese wants to bring Chicago legend Michael Jordan to a Sky game
There are few bigger stars in the sports world than Michael Jordan. Understandably, the Chicago legend is one of the stars Angel Reese wants to see play her.
In an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Reese mentioned Jordan, along with Stallion and another artist, who she wants to attend a Sky game in Chicago with.
“Okay, I’m going to say Michael Jordan, Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion. She’s coming soon, that’s my girl,” Reese said.
Jordan is a Chicago legend who brought the city six NBA championships with the Bulls in the 1990s. The city has never watched the NBA Finals since and hopes the Sky will break their WNBA drought with Reese at the center.
Reese is on a historic consecutive double-double run, which is now 14. She is averaging 14.1 points and 11.9 rebounds for the Sky.
