Suspect charged in connection with home burglaries in Milton, Oakville, just days apart: police

A Mississauga, Ont., man is charged in connection with a home invasion in Milton in late March in which a resident was taken for an early morning drive.

Investigators say a resident, awoken and confronted by a male suspect near his bedroom, was forced into his truck at gunpoint around 2 a.m. on March 21 and drove a short distance before being told he had pulled over to the side of the road had to get off.

The incident occurred in an area around Clark Boulevard and Lancaster Boulevard, where three men demanded cash or jewelry from the resident before sending him into his idling vehicle at gunpoint.

Halton police have now charged a 21-year-old in connection with that incident and another home invasion just four days later at a home on Upper Middle Road and Third Line in Oakville.

During that incident, a resident was attacked by two suspects before fleeing in an SUV.

Police say the men were later arrested after the vehicle crashed into a wooden post in Bronte Creek Provincial Park.

The Mississauga man identified in a release now faces a total of 10 charges.

He is charged with robbery with a firearm and theft over $5,000 in each case.

Police are still looking for more suspects in both incidents.
