CM Punk announced his plans to win the World Heavyweight Championship after a brutal Strap Match victory against Drew McIntyre at WWE Bash in Berlin. The best in the world declared the champion Gunther this week on RAW. However, the Scot had other plans.

Following Punk’s promo, McIntyre unleashed a brutal attack on the former, leaving him bruised and having to be carried to an ambulance. However, one small detail during the attack was a twist that no one saw coming, according to WWE analyst.

Sam Roberts, during a recent episode of the Not Sam Wrestling podcast, stated that no one expected McIntyre to break CM Punk’s bracelet, something that had been the basis of their huge rivalry.

“So when Drew McIntyre took the bracelet back, I thought, ‘Are we just going to stay away from playing?’ But I let it happen, and I’m glad I did, because immediately after Drew gets his hands on the prize, the CM Punk family friendship bracelet, he breaks it in half. It would be one thing if CM Punk would say, ‘I got the bracelet back, now we’re done.’ It would be different if Drew said, “I don’t care about the bracelet, I’m here to kick your face off.” But destroying the bracelet, demolishing it, was something that none of us saw coming,” Roberts said. Bully Ray feels like WWE has reset the entire CM Punk-Drew McIntyre storyline

The world hasn’t stopped talking about the huge twist that WWE showed in the Punk-McIntyre saga on WWE RAW. Hall of Famer Bully Ray, on a recent episode of the Open radio brokenstated that WWE completely reset the best storyline on RAW with McIntyre’s attack on Punk.

The veteran couldn’t contain his excitement about what could happen between the two men in the future.

“After last night, I’m so ready to see the next chapter in Punk and Drew. Just from what they did last night, I can’t even remember what the finishes are from the other matches. It doesn’t really matter because The only what I remember is what happened last night. And last night they reset the whole story.” [0:30 – 0:48]

Now Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk III will undoubtedly take place in the near future, fan anticipation for their rivalry is growing every week. Only time will tell what happens when the two come face to face again in the future.
