Richard Simmons continues to spread love as fans mourn his passing.

A week after his death, the late fitness guru’s team shared a previously approved message that Simmons had prepared before he died at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, August 13 at the age of 76.

“Richard has worked very hard on his posts for you,” Simmons’ team said on his Saturday X profile. “He had a lot of ideas and worked ahead… going back to each idea and making changes until he got it exactly the way he wanted before posting it.

“As you know, over the weekend he simply shared a photo with a caption. He always chose his photos and wrote his captions for the coming weekend before Friday. That’s why we have the post that Richard wants to share with you last Sunday. We thought you might like to see it,” they said added.

The team then shared Simmons’ planned post on July 14, a photo of him in a NASA space suit, standing in front of a backdrop of red rocks. “Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze among the stars. Love, Richard,” the caption read.

Simmons died one day after his 76th birthday. His body was discovered by his housekeeper, who called Los Angeles police to his Hollywood Hills home, where Simmons is believed to have died of natural causes.

Shortly before his death, Simmons thanked fans for wishing him a happy birthday. “Thank you… I have never received so many messages about my birthday! I’m sitting here writing emails. Enjoy the best rest of your Friday,” he further wrote X.

Simmons’ last post was a photo of him pretending to be Barbra Streisand. “Hey beautiful! Please don’t make it rain on my parade,” he said wrote.
