Retro beat ’em up game The Karate Kid: Street Rumble announced

Publisher GameMill Entertainment has announced The Karate Kid: Street Rumble, a new throwback 16-bit sidescrolling beat ’em up game set in the iconic franchise.

The Karate Kid: Street Rumble will launch on September 20th across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5. Here’s a reveal trailer, via IGN:

The game is set in the 1980s like the original film and will feature playable characters from the film as well: Daniel Russo, Mr. Miyagi, Kumiko, or Ali Mills, as well as returning enemies like Johnny Lawrence, John Kreese, Terry Silver, and others across 12 levels.

It’s worth nothing this year marks the 40th anniversary for The Karate Kid franchise, with the sixth season of Cobra Kai hitting Netflix on July 18th.
