Nearly a month after canceling additional European tour dates following Josh Homme’s emergency surgery, Queens of the Stone Age have removed the remaining 2024 tour dates from their schedule to prioritize Homme’s health.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the band shared its regret at having to cancel or postpone all of their upcoming dates. “QOTSA regrets to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining shows in 2024,” the group wrote. “Josh has no choice but to prioritize his health and receive essential medical care for the rest of the year.”

In early July, QOTSA canceled eight European tour dates so that Homme could return to the United States for emergency surgery. “Everything has been done to persevere and play for you, but continuing is no longer an option,” they said at the time. Later that month, they canceled another seven performances scheduled for August.

Now the collective is postponing performances in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago and Madison until 2025, and canceling festival appearances in Mexico City, Memphis and Bridgeport entirely.

While it is unclear what type of surgery Homme has undergone, he has been open about his health issues over the years. Last year, he shared that he had been diagnosed with a form of cancer in 2022 and underwent surgery to have it removed.

In 2023, Queens of the Stone Age released ‘In Times New Roman…’, their first album in six years. Shortly afterwards, the group announced The End is Nero tour for North America, followed by a series of European dates. This year the band planned dates in Australia and North America, as well as some of the European shows they had to cancel.
