It was initially reported that PTI chairman Gohar Ali Khan had also been arrested, but PTI spokesperson Zulfi Bokhari dismissed the report of Khan’s arrest while confirming that Hasan had been arrested.

It was not clear what accusations were leveled against Hasan, who was also attacked by unknown persons a few weeks ago, leaving his face bruised.

The party also condemned the action through its official X account and criticized the Islamabad police.

“It is absolutely shameful how the Islamabad police continue to completely mock and ignore every law in this country,” the party said. “The law of the jungle rules Pakistan!†PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman alleged that police personnel seized documents and equipment from the party office.

“We heard that they have locked the staff in a room and are waiting [the] prison van arrived and took computers and important documents with them,” he wrote on X.

Earlier, SSP Hassan Jahangir Wattoo led the raid when police surrounded the PTI headquarters in the federal capital.

The raid comes just days after PTI’s international media coordinator Ahmad Waqas Janjua was arrested on Friday.

According to Bokhari, he was produced before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad, which handed him over to the police for seven days.

According to the allegations, explosives were recovered from Janjua during his arrest and his links with banned organizations should be investigated, police said in court.
