Malaysia Airlines to expand Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur flights to seven weekly flights from August 1, BA

Malaysia Airlines has announced a significant increase in flight frequency on the Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur route, from 4 to 7 times per week from August 1, 2024. This follows an earlier doubling of flights in January 2024, due to strong demand to travel. The increase brings Malaysia Airlines’ total weekly flights in India to 71. Launched in November 2023, Amritsar joins Ahmedabad and Trivandrum as new Indian routes introduced by the airline in 2023. They have also recently increased frequencies on the Trivandrum route to four times a week in April. .

Malaysia Airlines has an extensive network in India, with flights from nine major hubs: New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar and Trivandrum. They connect Indian travelers to popular destinations such as Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam.

Commenting on this development, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Dersenish Aresandiran said: “India remains a cornerstone of our business strategy. We are pleased to strengthen our operations in this dynamic market by further increasing flight frequencies from Amritsar. With 71 weekly flights between India and Malaysia, we remain steadfast in providing enhanced flexibility and travel options to Indian travelers, serving as a gateway to Asia and beyond. With our extensive network, comfortable transportation options and delivery of our inimitable Malaysian hospitality, we are confident that we can meet the escalating demand for travel from India.” To mark the increase in flight frequencies, Malaysia Airlines is presenting special promotional fares for Indian travelers to Malaysia. Fly from Amritsar to Kuala Lumpur with return fares starting from INR 15,099. This offer is available for booking until June 7, 2024, for travel until March 31, 2025.
