“Bosch: Legacy” concludes with its upcoming third season on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video.

Season 3 of the series is scheduled to debut in March 2025. Michael Connelly, whose Harry Bosch novels serve as the basis for the series, announced this on Friday via Instagram.

“It’s been a great run with this character so far,” Connelly wrote. “There’s that overused phrase ‘It takes a village,’ so I’ll just say, it takes a whole town, at the very least, to make a show like this. We’ve had the best people up and down the call sheet. Actors, writers, directors, producers and the entire crew tried to make something special, and they certainly succeeded. I am very proud of what we have done.”

Connelly then praised the series’ lead actor, Titus Welliver, who first began playing detective Harry Bosch in the original series in 2014. “He became the complete embodiment of Harry Bosch and that was the magic that fueled ten seasons. As the guy who writes the books, I can’t tell you how lucky I was when he signed on.

Thus ends the longest-running scripted series Amazon has had to date. ‘Bosch’ became the unsung hero of the e-commerce giant’s streaming ambitions, lasting seven seasons before ‘Bosch: Legacy’ debuted in 2022. The original show aired on Prime Video, while ‘Legacy’ had aired on Freevee until now, but the latter show will air on both platforms with Season 3.

“Bosch: Legacy” is produced by Fabel Entertainment. The series is produced by Connelly, Eric Overmyer, Tom Bernardo, Henrik Bastin, Pieter Jan Brugge and Welliver.

However, the Bosch verse does not end there. Amazon has already greenlit a spinoff series that will focus on cold case detective Renee Ballard, another character from Connelly’s novels.
