Lioness – the Taylor Sheridan drama starring Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira – has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+.
Previously titled Special Operations: Lioness, The drama is inspired by a real American military program that follows the life of Joe (Saldaña) as she tries to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror.
The drama, which also stars Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman, set a new record as the streamer’s most-watched series worldwide on launch day, with nearly 6 million total viewers in its first week on Paramount+ worldwide and with a linear preview on the Paramount network.
The spy thriller is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios for Paramount+.
