The Latin Alternative Music Conference returns next summer for its 26th edition, Variety can only confirm this. The five-day event will once again take place at the Intercontinental New York Times Square for a series of panels, workshops, showcases and more on July 8-12.

“It has been rewarding to see the growth of the Latin Music industry and LAMC as an annual event over the past 26 years,” said Tomas Cookman, Founder of LAMC and Nacional Records. “Every year we see well-known names from our industry, but also many new faces. It’s where indies, majors and the kaleidoscope of genres and artists that make up contemporary Latin music meet. We initially started with a focus on what was once called ‘alternative’, but over the past twenty years what was alternative has now become the mainstream. I also feel that the LAMC provides opportunities for the next generation of the industry to meet and learn from those who have come before them.”

The LAMC features a variety of musical performances from the burgeoning Latin American alternative music world, including rising and established stars in the rock, hip-hop and electronic space. In addition, the LAMC honors the Wonder Women of Latin Music, a selection of journalists, publicists and executives from multiple parts of the music world.

Last year there were performances by Latin Grammy winner Fonseca, alongside Bratty, J Noa, Marcelo Rubio, NSQK, Karina Sofia, Marcelo Rubio and Darumas. The collaborations and plans for 2025 will be announced at a later date.

The 2024 edition of the conference utilized both virtual and in-person meetings, with nearly one million unique viewers tuning in online, according to the LAMC.
