Kevin Costner announced earlier this year that he would not return to Yellowstone for the second half of season 5.

The mega hit Yellowstone may return to TV screens soon, but there are reportedly issues among the cast over who will be the successor Kevin Costner as top dog after his exit.

RadarOnline.com previously reported Costner, who played family patriarch John Dutton until 2023, announced he would be leaving the show midway through season 5 after butting heads with the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan.

The source said, “Nothing has been announced yet, but the current cast is in talks for season 6.”

Now that news is out that the show may be going ahead, some cast members are already said to be contributing a lot more than they would have when Costner was still around.

The source added: “When Kevin was part of the cast, he was the undisputed alpha dog.

“Now there are really two camps: the people who are still loyal to Kevin, and the ones who are not.”
