John Cena opens up about major life decisions before joining WWE

John Cena is perhaps the biggest name WWE has ever produced. The Cation Leader recently opened up about an important decision he made before joining the Stamford-based promotion.

Cena will return to action in 2025 when RAW moves to Netflix. The year will be exciting for WWE fans as his retirement tour will result in him hanging up his boots.

Many WWE fans are aware of John Cena’s rise from rags to riches. However, in a recent interview with Club Shay Shayhe revealed that he was voluntarily homeless. He noted that he decided to build himself and prove to everyone.

“I was homeless by choice. A lot of people struggle with the inability to choose. My dad is wonderful and has always been great to all his sons. And he always said, ‘Hey, you always have a roof over your head. can always come home.’ But he also told me when I left the mean street of West Newbury for California, you’ll never make it in two weeks. Oh, so I don’t know if he’s a genius or just an a**hole,” Cena said.

John Cena added that his father’s taunts worked well, and that he enjoyed every moment of it.

“But it worked. I didn’t want to come home. So when all my plans failed and all my resources dwindled, I once again had a choice. Do I stay? And if I stay, this will be the best choice.” A roof over my head for a while, but I loved it.” [H/T Essentially Sports]

Rising WWE star wants John Cena to retire

News of The Greatest of All Time’s retirement tour has prompted many to imagine his retirement match. Bron Breakker is one of the WWE superstars looking to face Cena in his final run.

That’s not all, because the Intercontinental Champion wants to retire the 16-time world champion. It would be a match that could help him become an even bigger name in the industry.

“I think the only appropriate match that comes to mind is to retire John Cena, because I mean as far as I know he’s going on a Farewell Tour. I don’t know how long he’ll be around and all that, or whatever.” that’s his schedule, but if he wants to come back and have the best possible fit with the most elite talent he can work with, that’s me. There is no one else. So if that’s what he wants, come in there and mix it with the best of the best from the next generation, that’s going to be… the next five, ten years […] I’m going to stand up and be leaders for this locker room, that’s who I am,” the WWE star said.

John Cena has never won the Intercontinental Championship in his WWE career. In his final match, he was able to challenge Breakker for the title, making it a title versus career match.
