In a worrying development that followed 73-year-old Leno conservatorship granted from his 77-year-old wife in April, the couple was spotted stepping out in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

Mavis was spotted sitting in the passenger seat of her and her comedian husband’s car. It is currently unclear how the philanthropist suffered the surprising black eye.

Flash forward to April and the Los Angeles County Superior Court Leno granted conservatorship of his wife amid her escalating battle with advanced dementia.
“I think she’s in the least restrictive environment,” said the judge overseeing the case said after awarding the comedian the conservatorship in April. “I think she’s taking really good care of her with Mr. Leno.”

“We have been married for 44 years,” Leno said at the event. “It gets easier. It doesn’t get any harder.”

A Los Angeles judge granted Leno his wife’s conservatorship in April.
“We do everything together,” he continued at the time. “I go home every night, make dinner and sit down. We enjoy each other’s company.”
Leno continued to talk about his wife when he spoke at the Feminist Majority Foundation event two months ago.

“We’re having a lot of fun,” he said at the gala in May. “People say marriage is hard. I do not understand. I enjoy her company. I enjoy taking care of her. We’re having fun. She is the most independent woman I have ever known.”
“Again, I just couldn’t be more proud of her,” he told the crowd. “I am part of her legacy and that is what I am most proud of.”
