A new boutique company has launched in Los Angeles to offer a specific set of services to both the big players and newcomers to the entertainment industry.

Entertainment law veteran Gregg Ramer has revealed Ramer Entertainment Law, APCwhich aims to provide effective and personal representation to both companies and individuals working in the entertainment sector.

Services include film financing, executive labor negotiations, union and guild affairs, and intellectual property analysis.

Ramer is a frequent guest columnist for the Variety Intelligence Platform (see his piece on the Disney-DirecTV standoff). Ramer has represented Hollywood throughout his two-decade legal career, starting as an attorney for the Directors Guild of America straight out of Loyola Law School.

With years of experience at prestigious companies, including Loeb & Loeb and Paul Hastings, Ramer strives to offer clients the sweet spot between the quality and expertise of large companies and the personal approach of independent companies.

Most importantly, he believes that running a business allows him to offer emerging talent the same attention often reserved for big players, at a more affordable price. “One of the problems with big companies is that they can’t really represent entry-level people because that takes a risk,” Ramer said.

“I can take all the risks I want because it’s just me, and that’s the fun of it in a way,” he added. “The truth is that I do this because I love what I do and because I can do it at the highest level, for less money and with flexibility. That bodes well for the customers, and it will make me a happier person in the long run.”
