Chance Perdomo’s ‘Gen V’ character Andre Anderson will not be recast for Season 2 of the spinoff series ‘The Boys’.

Perdomo died in March at the age of 27 as a result of a motorcycle accident. In a joint statement which was released Sunday, the producers of “Gen V” said they will not be recasting the role because “no one can replace Chance.”

“Instead, we have taken the time and space to reimagine the storylines of Season 2 as we begin production in May,” the statement continued. “We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”

Perdomo played Andre Anderson, a student at Godolkin University who utilizes magnetic manipulation skills, in the first season of “Gen V.” In the season finale, Andre – along with fellow students Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan Li (Derek Luh and London Thor) and Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway) – is last seen being held in a high-security facility following the God Massacre YOU.

The producers released a statement following the news of the actor’s death, saying: “We can’t completely wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented artist, and above all, just a very kind, gentle person. Even writing about him in the past tense makes no sense. We are so sorry to Chance’s family, and we mourn the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”

Several cast members shared a separate joint statement paying tribute to Perdomo, including Maddie Phillips, Luh, Asa Germann, Broadway and Sean Patrick Thomas.

“Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we mourn this shocking loss,” the statement said. “We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he always carried with him. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be greatly missed. Love, the ‘Gen V’ cast.”
