Finma has warned of weaknesses among asset managers that expose companies to cybercrime.
In a guideline published today, the supervisory authority reported the operational risks it faces within financial institutions. The risk is defined as financial loss due to the failure of internal systems or inappropriate actions of people, but also due to external events. While this includes the danger of financial loss due to legal or compliance risks, it does not include strategic risks.
The regulator particularly noted that Swiss institutions under supervision are increasingly at risk as a result of digitalization.
