“Orphan Black: Echoes” has been canceled at AMC Networks.

The series aired its only season on the basic cable car in the United States from June. The season finale, which now serves as the series finale, aired on August 25. The show aired on AMC, BBC America and streamer AMC+.

Krysten Ritter starred in ‘Echoes’, a sequel to the hit BBC America series ‘Orphan Black’. The cast also included Keeley Hawes, Amanda Fix, Avan Jogia, Rya Kihlstedt and James Hiroyuki Liao.

The official description for the series states that the series “follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unraveling the mystery of their identities and uncovering a heartbreaking story of love and betrayal. Ritter plays Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story, who is trying to find her place in the world.

Anna Fishko developed the series and served as showrunner and executive producer. John Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series, served as executive producer and director. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers of Boat Rocker in the original series, also produced “Echoes” with Boat Rocker’s Nick Nantell, alongside Katie O’Connell Marsh and Kerry Appleyard. Boat Rocker manages the global “Orphan Black” franchise, including content distribution and consumer products.

“Echoes” failed to gain the same kind of acclaim that “Orphan Black” enjoyed, with the new series only achieving a 60% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Orphan Black” starred Tatiana Maslany and ran for five seasons, with Maslany winning an Emmy Award and receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.
