Disney teases ‘Gravity Falls’ revival and says they are ‘in discussions’ with creator Alex Hirsch

Gravity falls could possibly be revived now that Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television Meredith Roberts hinted that they are in talks with the show’s creator.

In a new interview, Roberts revealed that they are considering bringing back the animated series and have approached Alex Hirsch to make it happen.

“You know, we’re talking to Alex. He is about to publish a book about his project with Disney. And we’ll also do some shorts. So never say never,” said Roberts The direct one.

Gravity falls was created by Hirsch and premiered on Disney Channel in 2012 with a 20-episode order. The show follows the adventures of Dipper Pines (voiced by Jason Ritter) and his twin sister, Mabel (voiced by Kristen Schaal), as they spend a summer with their great-uncle Stan (voiced by Hirsch) in Gravity Falls, Oregon. The siblings find themselves in a mysterious city full of paranormal incidents and investigative mysteries.

For its second and final season, Gravity falls moved to Disney XD for another 20-episode order. Hirsch clarified in a social media post in 2015 that ending the show was his choice and not the result of a cancellation.

“This is 100% my choice, and it’s something I chose a long time ago,” Hirsch wrote in a Tumblr post at the time. “I have always designed Gravity falls being a finite series about one epic summer – a series with a beginning, middle and end. There are so many shows that go on forever until they lose their original spark, or mysteries that get canceled before they ever have a chance to pay off.
