A tanker truck went up in flames on a Colorado highway, killing one person — and TMZ has footage of the moment it happened … including someone driving through the fire.
Check out this wild video we shot that captures the immediate aftermath of a burning wreck along I-70 just outside Denver Thursday morning – where a tanker was hit by another driver on the road after stopping when it started to rain overheat.
According to state officials, another person sitting behind the tanker somehow managed to crash straight into it… causing the entire vehicle to catch fire and explode, sending fire in all directions.
That’s where our video begins… seconds after the crash, and just before the flames spread to the rest of the highway… with oncoming traffic unable to avoid it. The driver of this dashcam footage drives straight through… but was panicking.
You can see that the whole scary scene came at him out of nowhere… and before he had time to react or swerve to avoid it, he found himself in the middle of the massive fire.
Luckily for him, he came out the other side… but it appears that the car in front of him – which also went through the inferno – still had some fire hanging from the tire.
To develop: @csp_golden confirms that at least one person died in the fiery crash.

Other videos of the crash circulated as the fire grew bigger – spreading to grassy areas on the side of the highway and sending plumes of smoke high into the air – and you can see just how big the fire was… eventually sharing The I-70 had to have a will be closed for much of Thursday.
Unfortunately, the person who crashed into the truck died… and the tanker driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. It is not yet known what exactly caused the crash.
Officials are investigating… and a cleanup process was underway well into the afternoon.
