A body has been found during the search for presenter Michael Mosley on a Greek island, according to the BBC.
The BBC said the news was broken by a rescue worker, one of many who have gone to the Greek island of Symi since Mosley went missing four days ago.
Authorities, Mosley’s family and volunteers searched the island for the TV host and believed he was in a remote mountainous area.
The news comes not long after Mosley’s wife Clare Bailey released a statement saying “we will not lose hope.”
Mosley, a 67-year-old, disappeared Wednesday afternoon after leaving a beach on the island. The couple have four children, who reportedly traveled to the island to assist in the search.
Mosley is one of Britain’s best-known TV presenters, making his name in a series of nutrition and health documentaries after working as a producer at the BBC. He is the author of several health books and is credited with creating the popular 5:2 diet, in which people lose weight by reducing their intake on two days a week. He also hosts the BBC podcast The one thing about physical and mental health.
His wife’s statement yesterday read: “It has been three days since Michael left the beach to go for a walk. The longest and most unbearable days for myself and my children.
“The search is ongoing and our family is so incredibly grateful to the people of Symi, the Greek authorities and the British Consulate who are working tirelessly to help find Michael.”
