Blackish Creator Kenya Barris won’t have to bite his tongue about his sister for much longer. The Hollywood producer and his estranged sibling Colette will appear in court next month she sued himclaiming he ruined her reputation in the industry when he allegedly started talking her out in Tinseltown.
Documents obtained by RadarOnline.com reveal that a jury will hear the feuding siblings’ nasty legal battle after the next hearing on July 29.

As this outlet reported, Kenya – known for creating the award-winning ABC series and its two spin-offs, Adult-ish And Mixed-ish — used to be sued by his own sister in 2022. Colette accused him of violating an agreement that prohibits them from speaking to each other with third parties.

She claimed that her successful producer brother broke the agreement when he allegedly called her a “hack with no talent.”
“In or about June 2022, Kenya stated to a third party that (Colette) was ‘a 70-year-old hacker with no talent,’” she alleged in the lawsuit. She also claimed Kenya told people she didn’t deserve the reward. “The right to be a showmaker” and “wanted to be at the front of the line.”

“Kenya’s breach of contract denied Colette the benefit of their agreement and was a substantial factor causing her harm,” the documents say.
He denied Colette’s allegations and demanded that the lawsuit is dismissed.

Kenya claimed her claims were “rejected” for several reasons.
He argued that “[Colette] she has knowingly and voluntarily waived any rights she may have had under the allegations contained in the complaint,” adding: “[Colette] have renounced the violations and any conduct of which they now complain.”

The Hollywood hotshot also claimed that the “alleged statements were neither of nor concerning [Colette].” The estranged siblings have been ordered to fight it out in front of a jury.
Documents from June 18 show that Kenya and Colette will tell their side of the story at a trial conference on July 29. After the meeting, the judge will schedule a trial.
The jury trial is estimated to last between three and five days.

It is important to note that the brother and sister have been at war for years. Colette took legal action over their alleged post-Kenya arrangement filed for a restraining order to her in 2020, accusing her of riding his coattails and warning her to stay away.
His restraining order was revoked months later.
