President Joe Biden calls on Congress to provide the Secret Service with more resources… indicating that he thinks the protection agency is currently spread too thin to be fully effective.
The president spoke to reporters outside the White House on Monday, where he delivered his blunt assessment of the Secret Service after former president and current Republican nominee Donald Trump facing his second murder attempt this year.
When you are asked about the status of a complete report in the incident46 said he is relieved to know Trump is doing well… and thinks the Secret Service is not up to standard in its current activities.
He noted… “One thing I want to make clear is that the Secret Service needs more help. I think Congress needs to respond to their needs. … I think they need some more staff.”
Trump was the target of an assassination attempt in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday while the former prez was playing golf at his club.
According to authorities, Secret Service agents saw the muzzle of an AK-style rifle sticking out of a bush about 400 meters away from where DT was playing golf.
One officer fired into the area, prompting the alleged shooter Ryan Wesley Routhto drop the weapon and flee in a nearby SUV.
In addition to the gun, the alleged shooter left behind 2 backpacks, a rifle scope and a GoPro camera… according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Ric Bradshaw.
Rou was later stopped and arrested in a nearby province.
Trump was unharmed in the incident and later issued a defiant statement, declaring he would “never surrender” amid the attempts on his life.

Sunday’s assassination attempt comes two months after the 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at Trump at a meeting in Butler, Pennsylvania…described as the agency’s “worst failure” in decades.
