SriLankan Airlines and flydubai sign interline agreement to expand BA’s global connectivity

SriLankan Airlines and flydubai today entered into a new interline agreement, expanding travel options for passengers between Sri Lanka, the UAE and a host of other global destinations. The partnership will allow passengers of both airlines to seamlessly connect to different regions through Dubai’s aviation hub, increasing convenience and connectivity.

Through this partnership, passengers flying with SriLankan Airlines can now connect to more than 30 destinations on flydubai’s network across Africa, Central Asia, Central and Southeastern Europe and the Middle East. These destinations include unique travel hotspots such as Bucharest, Istanbul, Krakow, Mombasa, Naples, Sofia, Tashkent and Zanzibar.

In return, flydubai passengers will gain access to 16 destinations on SriLankan Airlines’ extensive network, spanning South and East Asia, the Middle East and Australia. This includes key cities such as Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo, offering travelers more flexibility and choice.

Expressing his excitement over the agreement, Richard Nuttall, Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines, said: “We are delighted to partner with flydubai to bring seamless connections and greater convenience to our passengers. This partnership aligns with our strategy to broaden our network and global reach and offer customers more travel choices. We look forward to welcoming flydubai passengers on board to experience our authentic SriLankan hospitality.”

The interline agreement aims to provide passengers with a range of benefits including single-ticket itineraries, checked baggage and coordinated flight schedules, ensuring a smooth travel experience between both airlines. Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, emphasized the importance of the agreement in promoting stronger trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Sri Lanka. “We are excited about our new interline agreement with SriLankan Airlines, which will strengthen travel and trade ties between our two countries. Since we started operations in Sri Lanka in 2010, demand has been consistently strong. This interline agreement opens new travel horizons for our passengers and offers them more opportunities to explore the world with ease.”

With this partnership, both airlines reaffirm their commitment to providing reliable and convenient travel options and delivering their renowned inflight services and hospitality to a wider audience.
